It states that our "economy is solid, with a large number of well-paying jobs in the insurance, bioscience and agribusiness fields. Yet the median house price is just $150.000. That's a great endoresment!
Forbes magazine identified the top 100 "Best Bang-For-The-Buck" Cities in the U.S. They recognized Des Moines as No. 4 on this list (Omaha was No. 1). This magazine says "low unemployment, few vacancies and a promising home price forecast, the real estate market shows signs of robustness. That make it possible for budget-conscious buyer to get in the door." It also gives credit to a stable housing market, reasonable property taxes and easy commute to work.
